Minrosa is an Australian Company that are specialist importers and wholesalers of Himalayan Salt Products.
Minrosa is based in Bordertown in South Australia and is owned and managed by Kym, Kathy and Tyke Staude. Kym also owns KD Sheep Studs, his involvement in the sheep industry started from when he was big enough to be in the sheep yards. His passion for the sheep industry continues today as he seeks to develop sheep characteristics that mean easy care and more profit to his commercial ram clients.
Kyms knowledge of the sheep industry allows him to understand the salt and nutrition requirements of the broader livestock industries and he is wealth of knowledge on the benefits the right nutrients can have for your livestock. This is where Minrosa was born in 2006 specializing in salt & mineral requirements for livestock. And from there it expanded to include a large range of salt products for human use.

Our Salt
Himalayan Salt (aka pink salt) is an ancient and unique product of nature that was formed over 250 million years ago and is found in the Himalayan mountain region. Himalayan Mineral Rock Salt contains 84 natural minerals and trace elements that are identical to those in the human body. There is no other food product or supplement which contains this quality or quantity of minerals and trace elements.
The Different Types of Salt
Sea Salt & Table Salt: Virtually all salt is sea salt. This is because the sea is where salt comes from. The minerals in the water have left salt deposits and mines that were created from lakes. The difference in sea salt and table salt is how the salt is processed. Table salt is often very fine with a white hue. Sea salt is less refined and has a brown hue. Table salt has iodine added as this is a necessary ingredient that is removed from salt when it is processed.
Himalayan Salt: This pink hued salt comes from mines that were said to be formed over 250 million years ago. The mining of the salt in its pure form eliminates many of the chemical processes that regular salt goes through. The benefit of Himalayan salt is the high mineral content that it retains. The key to this crystal salt is that it is more easily metabolised by our body (and animals). People and animals need salt and minerals to grow and develop properly.
Forms of Himalayan Salt
This salt not only comes in a salt shaker size granule but comes as large as a platter. The pink Himalayan salt can be found in small granules great for cooking or large rock bits great for soaking and creating saltwater. Salt lamps are being created from large chunks that have either a tea light holder or electric lamp fitted to them. For animals salt licks and salt chunks on a rope are being sold widely.
